🔍 Case Statement:
Six months ago, we embarked on an exciting journey with an overseas brand, a partnership that presented unique challenges due to the diverse nature of their product range – some items’ volume is large, some small, but all in high demand shortly, The client sought a distinctive touch by imprinting their logo on the raw cable jacket, transforming it into a bespoke product. However, this customization posed a significant hurdle in our production process.
🤔 Challenge:
For smaller orders such as less than MOQ1K/sku, like wire rods, meeting the Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ) of 3000 meters was proving to be a formidable challenge. Our raw cable supplier was initially unwilling to accept an order below this threshold, complicating our efforts to fulfill the client’s customization requirements.
💡 Solution:
Determined to find a solution, our team engaged in two phone conferences with their sales/PMC department, seeking to negotiate with the raw material supplier. Despite these efforts, the supplier remained adamant.
Undeterred, our Purchasing Manager took a proactive step and personally visited the supplier’s company for face-to-face coordination, emphasizing the long-term growth potential of our collaboration and showcasing the strength of our end customers.
✅ Final Result:
Recognizing the mutual benefits of a continued partnership, we strategically outlined two key points during the in-person coordination:
Future Prospects: Demonstrated the promising future ahead for our end clients, backed by three years of objective development trends. This highlighted the potential for increased business for both parties.
Overall Cooperation: Emphasized the comprehensive nature of our collaboration, with 15% of turnover already stemming from other orders meeting the supplier’s MOQ. Encouraged a holistic perspective that prioritized the entire partnership over a small subset of products.
In the end, our raw material wire manufacturer agreed to collaborate on OEM customized raw cable, even below the standard MOQ of 3000 meters. This success not only showcased our commitment to meeting client requirements but also emphasized the strength of collaborative business relationships.
